Just before midnight

Apparently the hottest day of the year in the south, but just pleasantly warm here, and quite cloudy. A full day in one way or another, but nothing out of the ordinary - housework, some tidying in the 'yard, another bag of clothing that no longer fits ready for the charity shop,  a bit of 'Babbeling' in French (progress is slow but sure), exercise on the bike...

An interesting chat with Lucy in the evening. She's living in Kirklees, where there are extra restrictions in place to try and lower the Covid-19 infection rates. The government's guidelines are 'interesting'. She can't visit anyone in in their home or garden, or have visitors to her home or garden. But she can go to work (she works outside the area), shops, pubs, and restaurants,  but not with people from other households. And she can meet outside in public with groups of up to six households, as long as the group isn't more than 30 people. Got it?

MrM called me late last night to look at the moon - the sky had cleared, and the moon was bright. Couldn't resist a shot or two, but couldn't be bothered to go upstairs to fetch the tripod. A shooting star crossed the sky between shots, so doubly worth going out.

Just before midnight, and I couldn't resist peering round the corner at the noisy crown outside one of the pubs. Social distancing? Pandemic? Virus? Totally forgotten once they'd had much more than a few drinks...
