Matthiola longipetala

During the day the tiny flowers are shrivelled up, but come the evening new tiny lilac flowers open and fill the garden with scent. I know them as night-scented stocks. You can go out at midnight as they're still going strong. Guess they must be pollinated by moths? Got stocks at night, and sweet peas during the day!

A lovely Saturday, and the last night of garden camping so I have the house to myself again. Still weird.

Extra of an embroidered gift that has finally winged it's way to me. Had worried that it had been lost along the way.
