Day 145

Posting a day late . river life
This morning we decided to go Runnymede for a coffee . This is the first time I have seen this statue of our present Queen even though it was erected 5 years ago to commemorate an important event in our history, The signing of the Magna Carta. On the floor beside it is important events in our history too. This is a lovely area where the river is not deep but slow and meandering. people choose to swim here and paddle, kayak, row and paddle board. The french brothers run a daily boat service from here to Windsor too. Not cheap but a lovely ride. plenty of pleasure cruisers moored up too see extra for some river life
we were disappointed though not to see the Berkshire kites practising their thermal gliding skills ready for next week. Perhaps it was too warm even for them.
Back home we were privileged to see the Team fish practising their synchronised swimming routine not once but twice. I am concerned about the baby relay team as they did not put in an appearance all day. I do hope they are ok.
A another very hot afternoon in the mid 30'sC
hoping for a cooler night
