If you can't beat them...

Common Pondskater (Gerris lacustris)

Home again.  Neglected jobs had to be the first item on the agenda, so off to the Lodge to get the grass cut.  If it had been left much longer I could have made a nice crop of hay!

After lunch I popped over to see Kanyl.  As usual we wandered his garden while I looked for something different to blip.  I was admiring his water lilies when movement caught my eye.  Pondskaters!   I am fairly confident this is a female, however as always if you know I have misidentified something please tell me.   Even as a child I was fascinated by the way they were supported purely by the surface tension of the water and the way they could zoom across the surface.
