Wildflower Patch

The wildflower patch is looking pretty exceptional this year, and was very much alive with beasties.

Enjoyed an evening in the company of actual other grown ups last night. We sat in the conservatory and watched the bats flitting around, and had a surprisingly entertaining conversation about unfortunate incidents involving dead animals. Arja has good stories on this subject, as for a long time she worked alongside an impressive national collection of taxidermy.

The Bug and the Bear couldn't get enough of their auntie this morning. I don't think she got a minute to herself, but thankfully this meant that I did! As well as exploring the wildflowers, I enjoyed free rein on courgettes, mange tout, snow peas, mizuna, leeks and spinach to take home.
