Again

One of the positives of not currently having any more work post-covid is I’m able to help my parents more. Today I took Dad to hospital: As Sod’s law would have it, the small lump on his face (that appeared several months back) grew quite quickly during lockdown and was noticeably worse, so the muchly-waited-for date to have it checked over finally arrived.

It was what we feared, but nothing a short, hopefully straightforward op can’t sort. It may not be as gargantuan an ordeal as what he went through 7 years ago, but this is on view for all to see and the scar afterwards might be a tad bothersome. For a brief moment when he heard that c word again he looked just the same as he did 7 years ago, but he quickly got over it.

After the appointment we then trudged down to ENT to start the new ‘socially distanced’ process of getting one of his hearing aids booked in for repair, then we went home and we had sandwiches.
