Gloucestershire

We decided to have a couple of days in the country and today drove to our Airbnb in Gossington.  The place was the Coach House of Gossington Hall Cottage and has been converted into a really nice self contained holiday home.

We stopped off at Gloucester Services on our way down the M5. It was quite busy but they have very good distancing procedures in place and we had a very acceptable lunch there, discounted under the government Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

As we were a little early we popped into Berkeley, a nearby village with a castle, church, with separate tower, and the home of Edward Jenner, pioneer of the smallpox vaccination, now a museum, unfortunately closed until a vaccine for covid is discovered! (I made that up, though it is closed due to the pandemic).

The weather is still oppressively hot, thunderstorms are forecast.

Today's picture is the epitome of the theme Stationery or Stationary for today's Mono Monday hosted by chantler63.  A stationary Victorian pillar box wherein stationery is posted, seen outside the main entrance to Berkeley Castle.
