The heather and birches of Glentromie studded with flowers including field scabious, sneezewort, rock rose, harebells, eyebrights, vetchlings, and cowberry. In the hot sunshine there were many ringlets and later infuriating swarms of flying ants. At the edge of the expanse of Heather there were rows of beehives. The extra shows ripening cowberries
