Found this Eastman-Kodak No.2a Folding Hawk-Eye Model B, manufactured in Rochester, NY at a thrift store for - wait for it....

$1 - ONE DOLLAR!

The bellows are in rough shape and would be pricey to replace, but for a shelf piece... it's awesome! The kids have taken interest in it, it's age, the angle of the view-finder, the bellows... it has warmed my heart to see them so excited.

We've talked about the kids bringing the camera into school as an introduction to photography and perhaps a lead in for making pin hole cameras with the class. Could be fun!

For now, it has taken up residency on a shelf in the living room - a conversation piece if you will. I love it for it's history, for what it represents and I can only imagine what it's captured in it's lifetime.
