Hornet Mimic Hoverfly - Volucella zonaria

An unusual insect with large eyes a yellow area on its head and wings at a strange angle. It flew before I could get a better blip.
We went blackberrying with the granddaughters then mixed the fruit with apple and topped with crumble, happy girls.
