About to turn

New to Me

Found today's blip early this morning when I was out trimming the bushes by our front steps. A butterfly I'd never seen before was flitting through the little patch by our lamppost, where there's a mess of tall verbena, cosmos, day lilies, and salvia. I'm familiar with Tiger Swallowtails and Eastern Swallowtails, but this one's different and has longer tails. I identified it online as a Zebra Swallowtail - isn't it pretty?

W. and the kids return home tomorrow. I'll be very glad to see them safely here.
