Crazy weather

I know we shouldn’t complain, but this is now the fourth day of over 32 degrees. It is so hard to do anything in this heat. We have spent most of the afternoon just lying on the sofa with the windows open, trying to catch whatever breeze there is.
I realise that there will be thousands of people who tolerate this heat all the time. I don’t know how they do it. I’m so pleased that we live in a country where this is abnormal. All was not lost as I spent the afternoon re-reading The Salt Path, a contender for my next choice of book for our book club.
