Send the rain

Mr B went to tennis at 10-ish, so an early shower and beat him out of the door. Walked to the goats before it was any hotter. The other group were out today.

Most of the nearby growth was dried out, but found some wild dill for them. Typical, when I went back, they’d gone. So threw the dill over the wire fencing, expect they’ll find It.

Returned and had a cold shower. Then spent hours making a handful of calls that should take minutes. Direct Debits to change as have closed a bank account. The Council tax dept direct number kept dropping. Rang main switchboard. They gave me another number. Message said ‘number not recognised’. Called switchboard who reconfirmed the first number. Gave up. Have emailed them.

Then attempt to redirect an incoming payment. Clerical Medical message ‘Servers down call back later’. Eventually after several attempts success later in the day.

Then Oyster card. Both unable to access accounts. First speak to an advisor for 25mns. He constantly puts me on hold to get help. Then says he’s got “good“ news for me “he’s transferring me to someone who can help”. You guessed right the call cut off. Called back and spoke to someone more on the ball. He reset our accounts and was sending a link by email. Mine arrived. Mr B’s didn’t. So called them back again

It really is appalling having to waste a day like this. And still have the council tax to deal with tomorrow.

Sadly I cancelled a long awaited lunch with pals at Sculpture by the Lakes. I did warn our lovely host that I wouldn’t come if hot. Little did we know at the time a extreme heatwave was on the way. They reserved the Pavilion which is on an exposed jetty by the lake. Would be lovely in normal weather conditions. Have postponed our tickets to October. 4 still going. 4 cancelled. Bet they have a great time.

Going to be a hot and muggy evening. Sigh. Wish I could stand under the sprinkler’s tiny drops, blipped (SOOC), for osuzanna‘s Tiny Tuesday challenge.
