Report from Lovemore

Hello Boss,

Today we distributed seeds and tubes to 13 clubs at Kapelula and Livwezi areas in Kasungu. 48,000 seeds and tubes have been distributed.
Seeds that have been distributed are Mwabvi, M'bawa, Mthethe and Tephrosia.
Before going the two mentioned areas we first met District youth officer  responsible for forestry and he recommended the distribution of indigenous seeds which the Government is also encouraging villagers to plant.
At the meeting we had Chiefs, Area Development Chairperson and a Matron for all youth clubs around Kapelula area in Kasungu. The people have welcomed the indigenous project and we taught them all processes from seed treatment before sowing up to planting trees in the field and also all the medicinal importances the various indigenous trees have.
After we taught them, the people are very willing to plant, what we have distributsd
One club at Livwezi have asked for  moringa seeds to plant and are pleading that next time if possible we should bring moringa seeds.

We went with Paul who helped by guiding us on areas and clubs that want to receive the seeds.

Thanks.

Lovemore.

These areas in the central region of Malawi have been devastated by de-forestation, mainly as a result of the tobacco industry. It is great to be on the same wavelength as government and of course the people. Here again we are finding women and women's groups very involved.
It is great to see our work on Safety, Hygiene, Face Masks and Social Distancing in full swing
