Sheltering from the sun

Tuesday
A lovely sunny morning. Took a drive up to the moors and stopped for a walk on east Dartmoor heath. It was so peaceful and the scenery was beautiful looking across the gorse and heather towards Lustleigh.

After a scary drive along a 12 mile stretch of single track road, where luckily we never met any other vehicles, we arrived at Hound tor (extras). There were groups of ponies sheltering from the sun among the rocks. It was really hot so they were being sensible. Fantastic views of the other tors nearby and of Haytor vale.

At mum's for lunch. She's doing well and the bruising on her broken arm is changing colour now. Megan and Elsie visited in the afternoon. I helped mum with a shower after they had gone. Quiet evening back at the lake.
