Tempus Fugit

Time is running away with us. Although the large Wyllie Exhibition at the Mitchell Library is over there remains a small exhibition at the RGI Gallery in Douglas Treet Glasgow until the 7th March.

This is a smaller version of the iconic running clock outside Glasgow's Buchanan Street bus station. I appreciate both pieces because I am a very bad traveller, obsessed with not just being on time but actually being early. Perhaps it goes back to my childhood when we always had to start out in good time in case we had a puncture. The funny thing is that in all the journeys we went on we never had a puncture. The only mishaps I can remember are an over heating engine and the "big ends" going on a Standard Vanguard near the village of Carnwath.

It was very pleasing to hear that the clock at the bus station is in the process of being repaired and once again it will be of great use to travellers like me anxious about being on time.
