Fiery Sunday

Already three days of heat and this dahlia was burning in the afternoon sun.  I flooded the backyard, and AW went out later and paid special attention to some plants to make sure they had enough.

The way to beat the heat is do as little as possible, and that was what today was all about -- doing almost nothing.  According to the forecast, this will be the case for most of next week yet.  Of course, not that there's nothing to do.  The Viking is busy again, so mails have been going back and forth.  Mimi, in the meantime, is saddled again by the abusive B, who treats her as though she was his maid, and who can't return yet to his own pad because of the COVID-19 restrictions in the capital.  I really can't fix things for her at this time.  As for The Netherlands, we are still weathering the crisis relatively well.  Some are criticizing the government, though, for being too lax.  The numbers are spiking somewhat in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.  Breda is considering the option to keep foreigners (read: Belgians) from entering the town because of the recent spikes in Antwerp.  People simply need to stay alert.
