A shady spot

More sheet lightning last night but very little thunder and no rain.  It's been even hotter today so I went for an earlyish walk around the village.

The cygnets on the castle moat are doing well and looking quite grown up apart from their brown feathers. They had found a sensible place to sit - under the weeping willow, one of the few shady spots on the moat.

There were lots of butterflies flying, I counted eight different varieties.  I took plenty of photos but thought that you might like to see the swans for a change!
