Not a great day

It’s not been a great day.

We woke to massive thunderstorms and our pavement and street briefly turned into a river. Many local basements were flooded and other parts of the city and Shire were badly affected by flooding.

Mid morning came news of a bad train derailment just down the coast, and as the weather improved we watched several air ambulance helicopter flying overhead to the hospital - sadly there have been fatalities.

At lunchtime we learned that Aberdeen remains in lockdown for another 7 days and we remain restricted to a 5 mile boundary. This despite falling case numbers and failing local businesses. Locals are pretty fed up.
