DAY ELEVEN IN THE GAMES....

... what a day for the Down Under squad of the Alternative Olympic Games.

Following all that rain and delays to events, the sun was booming and everyone was excited about the arrival of the mighty Kevy the Kookaburra. He did not disappoint!  Flew above the Stadium, landed on the wire and gave one of those noted Kookaburra Laughs...... make sure you listen in here!

It was so loud that somebody commented it even got Paddie the Pacific Black Duck (extra one) to join in the Singalong.
Meanwhile the Games must go on, and over in the Lagoon Arena the "Blowing bubbles" event for the Spoonbills was well under way, with Splotty (extra two) way in front blowing some whoppers!

Whilst over at the Lagoon we missed the Little Pied Cormorant teams event, but did not miss the crowning of the winner. Known as "BIG wings" he was in a great display (extra three) as we arrived.

Well the crowd just went crazy mid afternoon ..... "look up, look up there" somebody yelled.... "It's Polly Pigeon"!
And sure enough there was Polly, her new husband and mates, (extra four), all out enjoying the sunny day over the Games Lagoon area. The crowd went crazy .... and a chant went up... "Go Polly Go Polly....".
As you know from Day one after she took out the Road Walk event so convincingly as the outsider, she has become the Games "hero"....

So Day 11 drew to a close with some wonderful results, and on the way out of the Arena one of the "model" contestants Sally Sparrow (extra five) was seen feeding in the late sunlight.

Enjoy and have a look in LARGE and be sure to check the Tag #AOG202011 for all the other AOG activity from today.

... and as they say "watch this space" - the Committee announced due to the extended number of days they have brought in some wonderful new events for tomorrow.
