R.S Stevenson links to Bridge of Allan

Walked down to the Allan Water river this afternoon to visit Robert Louis Stevenson cave, something I have not seen for a long while.  But now with my two new knees I am re-discovering favourite walks.

Opposite the cave  ( see extra ) which is believed, to have inspired Treasure Island was the solitary figure of a man sitting on a rock.  This is what Stevenson would have experienced on his regular visits with his family and led him to write in his memoirs:” I shall never forget the days in Bridge of Allan, they were one golden dream.”
