First Picking

In contrast to Hilary's over-abundance, my harvest is sparse. Seeds of heritage tomatoes brought back from France last year germinated easily and I distributed as many plants as I could to friends and passers-by, but have still had too many to safely rear in my tiny garden with no greenhouse. Some of those I was nurturing in the front garden have Blossom Bottom Rot - as mentioned on Gardeners' World only a week or so ago. Apparently due to too much or too little watering - thank you Monty! So I picked these and we ceremoniously ate the little one on cheese on toast after the photo shoot - delicious! Meanwhile, the figs just keep coming - see Extra.
