Fine specimen.

A Lacecap hydrangea - a flower head with a centre of tiny, clustered flowers surrounded by a ring of showy florets; quite different from the mophead variety in my garden (photo 25 July), and still blooming. This one is on the Joyce Dunn walk at the University of Stirling where we went this afternoon for a walk after the First Minister’s press briefing. Her husband was one of the first professors when the establishment opened in 1967. For a wee while she worked with the gardeners who landscaped the existing estate into the campus. The campus buildings and halls of residence are still closed because of coronavirus. Only a few overseas postgraduate students were about, as well as some folks walking and enjoying the open space.
