'White Nancy'

Saturday
After breakfast at the hotel we walked up Kerridge hill to 'white Nancy', a folly which was apparently built in 1817 on a site previously used for warning beacons, in commemoration of the British victory at Waterloo in 1815. It was a steep walk, but well worth it for the views (extras) over Kerridge and Bollington, across to Manchester on the skyline.

After stopping off at Edwina and John's to say goodbye, we set off on the drive home. Heavy traffic between the M61 joining the M6 at Preston held us up a bit. Sunny all the way until we reached Edinburgh, where it was cloudy and dull.

Out for dinner in the evening with Steven, Lisa and her parents.
