Pointed

Here is the gable wall of our house after it has been repaired and repointed from top to bottom. Along with the chimney stack rebuild it's cost me just shy of €17 000. We've got the same bill to face on the other gable, but not for a while... When we bought the house we knew it would need doing and wouldn't be cheap, so it has all been accounted for, but it's still pretty painful...

The extra is the garden wall which doesn't have the height or the same importance as the house wall so my wife is doing that herself... The unrepointed section has cement on it (which is nasty) but is stable so doesn't need working on, whereas other sections were in urgent need to repair.
