August

August usually seems to be a dead month photographically. Most of the wild flowers have bloomed. Grasses are drying out and shedding seeds. Ragwort and Rose Bay Willow Herb linger, as does white Convolvulous and purple Thistles whose tops are transforming into gossamer thistledown.

The scene looks unkempt, untidy, unless you look. On my walk yesterday round Dishley Pool yesterday, I gathered samples of what was growing and arranged them in a vase today after we'd got back from lunch with George, Kat and William who had just taken delivery of their new, second hand car.

I think it looks very attractive, even if I say so myself.
