Uncle Percy L and Uncle Arnold, Looe 1939

Here are some more of the clan on holiday in Looe, Cornwall. This picture was taken in August 1939 just a couple of weeks before the outbreak of the second world war, and Lorna's decision to write her diary of the war.

Here we have:

Lorna's Uncle Percy L on the left, smoking a pipe
Uncle Arnold in the centre, also with a pipe
Auntie Eveline (Uncle Arnold's wife) lying on the rocks
Cousin Naomi (eldest daughter of Uncle Arnold and Auntie Eveline) in dark clothes on the right, reading
Cousin Miriam L (second eldest daughter of Uncle Arnold and Auntie Eveline) hidden under a towel with a young man called John. It has been suggested that John might be a cousin - the son of one of Lorna's Grannie's sisters.

The wee boy on the left is probably one of the two youngest children of Uncle Arnold and Auntie Eveline: either Cousin Roger (aged 11 or 12) or Cousin David (aged 12 or 13).
