Black Swan

The black swans are nesting in the wetlands next to the lower pond in Sydney Park. Late this afternoon the wind had come up, heavy raindrops fell, a rainbow briefly appeared. We sheltered at the kiosk then set off for the wetlands, and the section where dogs aren’t allowed. In there, the area between the path and the pond had been fenced off to further protect the swans.

I’m constantly surprised that these big beautiful creatures can raise their young in such a popular inner-city park.
