Just a ...

... cottontail.

We had an easy, relaxing day at home today only going out in the late afternoon for a walk at Housenick Memorial Park.

I saw several female monarch butterflies out on the back milkweed so I went out to look for any eggs that they made have laid.  I found seven!  They are now in one of our mesh butterfly enclosures waiting to hatch and then, hopefully, become beautiful butterflies like their moms!

Whilst at Housenick we also gathered eight monarch eggs and they are in a separate enclosure!  It was a late start to our butterfly nursery but we now have something to look forward to.  When these eggs hatch and then become butterflies they will be part of the great monarch migration ... migrating to Mexico.  It's that time of year!
