Sharing A Moment

On today’s agenda was Batsford Arboretum at the request of Eldest. We arrived just in time to start with lunch at the cafe, socially distanced on the sun terrace, in the sun. The visit to the arboretum was lovely, the weather remained warm and sunny and the gardens were beautiful, with an amazing range of trees and at this time many producing unusual fruits.

After the arboretum we visited the Cotswolds Falconry on the same site. We arrived just in time for the afternoon display given by a man who was obviously so passionate about his work and his birds that you couldn’t help but to be drawn in. He explained about how they trained the birds using positive reinforcement to encourage them to fly and about the captive breeding/release programmes they had for many of the birds. I took loads of photos of the birds but actually really loved this candid shot of Eldest and Sushi sharing a moment at the end of the display.

We had a lovely evening meal out at a tapas restaurant in Cheltenham, a short walk from our house. We made full use of the £10 to eat out deal and definitely spent our share on extra carafes of sangria.
