Fast Flow

Mrs B and I went for a stroll around Worthington Lakes near Wigan today. Owned by United Utilities, the three reservoirs were constructed in 1860 to provide fresh water for the growing town.
They were built in the Douglas Valley, through which the river of the same name flows, so consequently it had to be diverted, and my image is of the river falling through a wooded area on its way towards Wigan.
At the moment, due to the large amount of rainfall, the flow is very fast, so I propped my camera on a rock and took a half-second photo!
Extra shows a view of the middle reservoir looking North.
