Carpenter bee

I believe this is a carpenter bee. It is certainly quite a size.  We did some gardening around the church building, pulling up weeds growing besides the church walls as the commune has not got round to it. We picked up J. and J. and took them to Maggie's for lunch. Of, course, it went on long into the afternoon but I was glad to have a quieter day after yesterday's exertions.
