Sgwarnog: In the Field

Towpath

There was plenty of life on the towpath at Saltaire this evening, but not so much that people couldn’t keep their distance.

I was walking down to another pre-season friendly at Salts FC. They were hosting the West Yorkshire Police who will this season be playing in a new national Emergency Services Football League. It was another comfortable victory for Salts: 5-0. One might say an arresting performance.

Earlier we navigated GCSE/BTEC Results Day much more calmly than we might have done had the Ofqual algorithm not been vanquished. 15yo got a great set of results and we are proud and happy.

I also fitted in a lunchtime walk along to Moorside and down to the Spring Wood meadow. There were a few butterflies and dragonflies about: Speckled Wood, Wall, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Common Blue, Peacock, Red Admiral, Small Tortoiseshell, Small White, Green-veined White, Common Darter and Southern Hawker.
