Breakfast buckets....

A bright start then clouded over. A drop of drizzle on and off with sunny spells and wind for the rest of the day. Not a harvest day any way!
Littlemiss back to school , 5 months to the day after they broke up for lock down. Going to miss my gate opener/ co pilot.
Junior still stuck here as can’t get back to Uni in Aberdeen due to lockdown again.
Spent the morning finishing spreading slurry in the field I started on Tuesday.
Kev still off sick- chest infection , not covid he reliably informs me . Spent the afternoon running barley into the wet grain tower.
When Littlemiss came home from school we headed down the road to feed the cattle , then a brief detour to see my contractor about spreading dung and ploughing ready to sow winter barley . Managed to squeeze in a coffee while there.
Ross was hauling straw bales home. He is still learning but at least he is keen , and we all had to learn once upon a time ..
He arrived home with his last load at 10.30 pm so I sent him home and emptied them into the shed myself.
Now sitting doing paperwork , registering the calves we tagged yesterday. They all need a cattle passport which shows were they have moved to during their lifetime, which you apply for online to BCMS at Workington in Cumbria .
These 2 are the bottle reared pet calves getting their own private breakfast while the others are at the trough . It’s a tough life .......
