Heckington Windmill

SATURDAY

A day spent exploring the Lincolnshire area.

First stop Sleaford which was busy and cheerful.

Morning coffee and cake at Heckington Windmill. Nice cafe. Flour and jam from the mill shop and also a brewery and bar on site. A great place if you like windmills, flour, afternoon tea or craft beer. Paradise if you like them all.

Next stop - Boston. Had a look around St Botolph’s Church (with its stump tower) - see extra and a walk up to the Grand Sluice.

We then headed over to Skegness but didn’t stop. It was heaving and no sign of social distancing. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to spend a week day on this awful place.

After driving through what appeared to be caravan city we headed for the Lincolnshire Wolds with afternoon tea from Tracey’s Little Tearoom.

Back at the farm cottage and watching Sean Connery programmes on tv.
