Magical Mussenden

Lucy and I were flicking through her homework diary this morning...exactly the same as from our Sullivan days, except now there is an inspirational quote at the bottom of every page! One in particular caught our eye:

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”
(W.B. Yeats).

Listening to today’s Bible in one year in the car with Dad - the Old Testament reading was about Jehoshaphat, King of Judah. Which reminded Dad of a song by the same name by Don Francisco! So we sat in the driveway for a while, listening to Don...until a lady came over and asked “Is that Don Francisco I hear? He’s my hero!” Turns out she, her husband and four boys are our new neighbours here! And what lovely neighbours they are :-)

This afternoon we explored the paths round Mussenden Temple. Mum spotted a little coffee van named “Al’s Coffee” (but since it was evening at that point we guessed it would be closed!) Turns out Al was still about, and was super friendly - and very generous with his time and conversation, telling us all about his home in Scotland, and his dream of starting this van! He even sold dark chocolate Bounty bars - Mum’s absolutely favourite!

An evening cycle on the Portstewart Strand with Dad and Rebekah, who returns to London early tomorrow morning. What a treat it has been to spend time together as a family in this beautiful place. Thank you Lord!
