Bananagrams and Chocolate Pie

One final birthday celebration for the summer...really just an excuse to make another pie. Cousin Shelley came over with presents for the three of us who have summer birthdays, and her visit as usual entailed dinner, a walk, a bunch of games, and a detective show (we're into Rebus now). 

Earlier today, W. and I tackled the weeds that grew rampant in the veggie garden while we were away. We conscripted the children to assist, which was useful. It was hot and humid and we were all dripping when we went indoors - successfully having turned the kids against yard work for life, perhaps. But we got some really good work done!
