backlit butterfly

I blipped too early yesterday as early in the evening a sparrowhawk caught a collared dove in the garden - blood and feathers everywhere but I got some good photos lol! Nature is wonderful isn't it!

A nice Sunday visit to Hyde Hall today with my parents, and the sun was shining which always makes it more enjoyable! Not so much wildlife about today but a few small butterflies about in the meadow area. And then when we got home I got roped into helping a neighbour with some rose pruning as she's not really a gardener and didn't know which bits to prune - I got our big loppers and went to town as it was a little out of control... fingers crossed it now regrows!!
