puffballs

We needed to stock up on essential supplies this mornings. Somehow we were too keen and got to the shop before it opened. Ah well, we waited in a nearby cafe. In the afternoon I took my camera for a walk to see if any fungi have popped up recently. Initially I was disappointed but found a nice bunch of puffballs towards the end of my walk. I also had a good look at the two hydraulic ram pumps (see extra) that presumably supplied the Hermitage House with water from the Braid Burn. They must have been quite noisy. The Hermitage is always lovely for a walk.
