Ghaistrill's Strid

Backblip 3/3
As the husband said, this blip pretty much took itself.  Ghaistrill's Strid is a pretty photogenic location at the best of times, and when you've got a downpour cloud behind it and summer sun in the front all you really have to do is press the button on the camera.

Today's walk was a loop from Linton to Kilnsey, heading out across the moores then back along the River with a stop at the trout farm for an ice cream.  This weekend has been fun watching lots of outside diners and drinkers in cafes and pubs suddenly rush inside when the rain starts, only for it to stop a minute later.  We just got wet.

In the evening we got in the car and headed over to Pateley Bridge for a takeaway from Ollie's pizzeria (would highly recommend).  We ate it on a picnic bench on the Coldstone cut with some amazing views and got back in the car just before another shower hit.

Edit:  I just googled what this stretch of water looks like 'normally' which made me realise just how much water was coming down!
