Parish Pumps of St. Peter Port #12

Day 12 of my St Peter Port pump blip

This pump is in Hauteville, St. Peter Port a couple of doors down from Victor Hugo's house.

Yes, the great French author, creator of Les Miserables, would have probably sent his mistress or scullery maid to this very pump to collect water to mop his fevered creative brow!

As noted on the Village Pumps site it's unusual in that the pump action faces away from the thoroughfare. For the blipper that makes it a bit of a pain, as the shot from the road only shows the back of the pump.

There are about 20 pumps around the Town and I have set myself the trainspotterish task of blipping them all in a row - you have been warned.

Tune in tomorrow for the next St Peter Port pump!

Thanks to Village Pumps for doing it first and saving me getting an old parchment map out from the Priaulx library.
