Cabbage Tree & Blossoms

Winter returned today. A sou’west change brought rain and cold temperatures. Since it was too wet to go out I took this shot through my bedroom window. It shows a small cabbage tree and plum blossom against the dark hedge.

With the cabbage tree leaves enlarged on my computer screen I was surprised at how badly munched the leaves are. No doubt the work of cabbage tree moth caterpillars. I’ve never seen one of those. The moths themselves are very hard to find. Here’s one I blipped a few years ago.
