Flying the Nest

A new year, a new set of modules and a dissertation to juggle among them but there was still time to nip down to the canal to take a few shots for my photography module.

For the module we have a set criteria of what subjects we need in our photos. This shot didn't fit any of the criteria but it was my favourite and I couldn't quite decide why.
Possibly because of the confidence of the bird flying out alone away from the sunset and how I think it shows the beauty of the bird for being just that extra bit confident.
