Limequats

Blipsnap!

I had a date to hang out in the park, six feet apart with masks of course, with my Chinese friend Theresa, who just got back from San Francisco. She brought me a little bag of these fruits, a cross between a lime and a kumquat. So I laughed when I saw CAgirl's fruits today.

I don't have much experience with kumquats, but my first memory of them is very strong. Across the street from my New York apartment house was a Chinese laundry. The man who owned it often gave treats to the children, and it was there that I tasted my first kumquat. I was about five years old.

The limequats Theresa brought for me taste very fresh and tart.
