Launch Party for Lady Jane

We lost a good friend, Jane Clarke, at the beginning of July, who had passed away after a long, brave, battle with cancer.


Some friends from her village had spent a lot of their time in lockdown, repairing and refurbishing an old rowing boat.  A major task, but the finished craft, with its varnished features, looked terrific.


We were very grateful to be invited to the 'launch' of the Lady Jane.  Even in its new condition it would not have survived the impact of a champagne bottle, but the bow was given a good douse.  The rest was drunk as a toast in Jane's memory.  A really nice event in the middle of 'one thing and another'.
