White Monday

That's what the national weather service has dubbed today. Snow for the entire length of Italy today including Sicily and Sardegna. The snow has just started here this morning and forecasted to continue all day and into tomorrow! yeah!!! Most people hate the snow - I like it! I just wish I was somewhere more fun than the office on Monday morning. I tried to get the car to slide a bit this morning, but the roads are still too clean. :( That part will come later on the way home... I probably won't be to happy then with slow traffic, accidents and congestion. ha! Some people are just hard to please.

Here's the bridge between Vaprio D'Adda and Canonica D'Adda this morning. You may have already guessed... the river is called the Adda. The big mansion on the hill with all the chimneys is the Villa Melzi. As the story goes, Leonardo Di Vinci stayed here while studying civil engineering. He had already painted his Mona Lisa which he kept with him while staying there. I used to eat regularly at a restuarant on the far side and each night the Contessa Melzi would wave down to the owner of the restaurant before turning her light off... so legend grows.
