A Late Season Visitor

Dear Diary,

I haven't seen a Black Swallowtail butterfly in years but one decided to pay a late season visit to the last of the Phlox.  A pretty contrast.  I am expecting the rain to start soon and it will be so welcomed.  Much of the garden is finished for the year because of the drought.  It is a sorry sight I'm afraid so it is always nice to have such a lovely visitor to brighten things up a bit.
