What Do I See

The Last One Flown

The final day of our Somerset trip, and like Thursday the weather dominated all the planning and changed events around. A brief return to the beach for some more blowy west England seaside fun (14C and the wind whipping across from South Wales) before a short trip up the motorway to Bristol to visit the Aerospace Bristol museum. Filton was once home to one of the most innovative companies in British, if not the world's aerospace industry. The likes of the Harrier engine, and the Olympus engine that powered the Vulcan and Concorde came from there, along with Concorde itself being assembled there, and many notable aircraft prior to that. Oliver and I took the opportunity to look around the museum and go inside the last Concorde ever flown.
