All Saints' Church, Pitsford

On our way to Northampton today we stopped in the village of Pitsford with the intention of blipping its remarkable Norman south doorway. The tympanum (space between the top of the door and the arch) shows a weird animal struggling with an armed man. It is thought to represent Faith fighting Evil.

We know about this because it is described in one of the old leaflets from Northamptonshire Leisure Services that we brought back from a recent visit to G's mum and dad.

Sadly I am unable to show this in my blip because the south door is through the porch, and the external porch door was locked.

Instead I have settled for this rather attractive view of the church.
