Pub crawl.

Ireland day 5

While having breakfast we decided that today we would visit the Dingle Peninsula. As there is a lot to take in we would stay overnight at Dingle then Mr PC could visit a few pubs and sample the ale.

Our first stop on the way was the beautiful beach at Inch which was used as the location of the 1970 film Ryan’s Daughter starring John Mills.

After a stroll along the beach we headed for our next stop, 7km west, to the small town of Annascaul, made famous by the Antarctic explorer Tom Crean hence the pubs name South Pole Inn. The locals must enjoy a Guinness or two as we counted 7 pubs in about a 500m stretch ( none open) .

Back to the car and continuing North we headed along  Slea Head drive towards Dunquin pier ( see extra) where we stopped for a picnic lunch, by this time the weather had come in and had enveloped Blasket Island from view. So we headed back to Dingle and checked in to our B&B.

The rain finally cleared so we strolled into the town taking in the views of the harbour and the colourful buildings (second extra)

This is where everything went pear shaped, we decided to eat at a bar that promoted street food. After eating we decided to try a more traditional pub so we left and the first bar we tried you could only have drinks with food and the next 5 were the same. Worst pub crawl ever. Ended up buying a bottle of wine at the supermarket and went back to the B&B.

Never mind (we’re on our holidays)
